Hey guys,
New to the forum. Just received my MC6 mkii this week and putting the board together and doing some testing before making it look pretty with wiring with some new cables.
I am trying to make a lot of complexity easy to use. I'm coming from a helix floor and loved that I could choose a preset up, that changed everything for the next song to be ready. I'd like a way to press (or as the title says, hold a button) to change all of this below in one button for 5 song sets and i don't love the press 2 buttons to bank up, then engage one of the 6 buttons for a preset.
I would love to program a button hold to engage presets G-L to be starting points per song to do all of this with one press: If I need to get used to remembering which two button combos, that would be a bummer in the moment, but i guess I could also press toggle and select which song I'm on. The presets A-F are mainly toggles for reverb, trem, ML5 settings, and global tap.
Here's what I need to do at the beginning of each song:
Set midi clock tempo (with ability to override with global tap)
Select expression message since I use expression for volume on am abient swells patch only, and all other patches use expression for the brothers to control the gain from min (essentially the same as off) and max to be the most gain i would need for the set.
Send full volume message to kemper rack (if coming from swell and had volume down)
Send the correct PC location for volante delay and reverb PC messages (Song 1 - 1A on spec (this is every other PC message on spec to have a B setting for drenched verb available on the fly), 1 on volante, Song 2 - 2A on spec, 2 on volante…etc.
If the standard gain on the brothers needs a different starting point, it would involve sending a different PC message to the brothers than the standard per song
Adjust loops on the Morningstar ML5 accordingly (Whether or not the protein blue and green sides are activated individually as well as whether my acoustic input as the loop 1 return gets into the chain and drops the drives out of the chain and whether send and return to kemper are engaged in last loop. Close this loop when playing pedals through an amp.
If the song starts with any toggles engaged, swells, reverb b setting, or tremolo engaged on kemper.
What advice do you guys have? I'd love a button similar to PC scroll but Preset scroll but I'm thinking i'll need to program a preset for the starting point of each song given the list above. Thoughts?
Thanks so much!!
Josh
