Roland VX2020 + Morningstar + EWI

I plan to use my Morningstar to change preset on my Roland XV2020. I have connected my EWI to Morningstar midi in and activated midi throug. I can change to preset first when I have not used my EWI but directly when I start to play the EWI I can’t change preset anymore. It seems that some midi signal from my EWI that goes through midi through lock up preset change with the Morningstar. It works flowless without EWI connected.

some one here that have any idea what’s happen or have the same issue?

I am sending both PC and CC with the Morningstar. CC to chose correct bank and PC for the preset. It works perfect just with the Morningstar but directly when I start to use my EWI it stops working. I start to think that my EWI send some information through midi in on the Morningstar that looks the XV2020. Need to connect a midi app and see what information the XV2020 recieves.

I don’t have your gear and am shooting in the dark here but taking a quick look at the XV2020 manual I saw the following for Program Change (page 138) and wonder if it is related to your problem.

“Not received in Performance mode when the Receive Program Change parameter (Performance MIDI) is OFF.

I‘m assuming you want to issue a PC.
