Howdy - I'm very new to midi, just having received the MC6 this week. I'm running the three big box strymons and have an idea for how I want to program them. Here's what I have/want:
I want to program four delay/reverb combos that act as presets - ex, button A makes the delay and reverb go to patch A on each, B makes them go to another set of presets on each of them, etc. I think I'm ok on that part. The tricky part is this:
I want to be able to engage the mobius for vibrato by holding down each of the preset switches.
For example - preset A will be a combo of delay and reverb patch changes, AND, adding in vibrato when I hold the switch down. I have a preset on the mobius for vibrato, i just need to figure out how to activate the 'off' mobius and only have it active while I'm holding down the switch - all without messing up the delay reverb preset. Does that make sense?
Note: The delay and reverb pedals are always on/the mobius is only on when I want it activated.
Do you want the vibrato to be either activated or bypassed after each
Long Press, or do you want it to keep running as long as you hold the switch?
I think the latter is not possible on the MC6, but the former is easy.
Here's the simplest possibility:
Msg1: Action=Release, Type=PC (change delay or reverb preset), Pos=Both
Msg2: Action=Long Press, Type=CC (activate Mobius), Pos=1
Msg3: Action=Long Press, Type=PC (set vibrato preset), Pos=1
Msg4: Action=Long Press, Type=CC (bypass Mobius), Pos=2
Any single short press will change the delay/reverb presets, while
a long press will either activate or bypass the vibrato. Use the copy/paste
at the top to save typing time for the other MC6 presets.
If you want to keep track on the MC6 display of the status of the
current preset, you can activate "Toggle On" and "Blink On", as well as
select "ClearTgs On" in the Main Menu (D+F) -> Bank
I am not sure how toggle will interact with the Long Press, but for Short Press,
this is the best method. I don't have the MC6 with me to try this method
fully, but I hope this helps.
