Hi!
So i dont know much about programming a CC controller in general and i've quickly found out that working with the octatrack might not be the best project for a total noob. i was wondering if anybody here is doing the same thing and can share their insights. not much info on youtube on how to handsfree the OTMK2.
thanks
Looks good from over here
Right - I think I get it..
The value is there to mimic the CC number and the 59 is what the OT recognises as midi not numbers coming in.. like a prefix

Hi guys, so did you work this out in the end?
I just tried mine last night and was having trouble also.
I have everything set up in the MC6 Editor correctly.
..and the OT is receiving midi on the Auto channel etc..
But nothing is happening. It may be the value settings you mentioned above.
I am going to try this tonight and see if it helps.. I currently have them set to 127.
Also.. the midi implementation chart I have for the OT mentions the REC cc's are
61 & 62.. you mention 59 above. Strange..
Just got an Octatrack mkII myself and am wanting to set up the MC6 to do this. Based on pages 105 and 106 of the OT mkII manual, it outlines how to do this.
In summary, you’d set a preset switch on MC6 to send CC59 a value of 60 to simulate pressing the REC1 button on OT. Create a second switch preset on MC6 to send CC59 a value of 64 to simulate the REC2 button. Follow the rest of the manual to see the other presets you’d have to set up. But since the MC6 doesn’t sent midi notes, you’ll always have to send the midi note value to CC59. This is the Cc that corresponds to sending a midi note on the OT.
And you’ll have to make sure that the midi channel set up on your MC6 corresponds to the auto channel on Octatrack. Not super familiar with auto channel, but it sounds like it corresponds to the midi channel for each track.
Long story short, I think the MC6 should easily be able to do this and I’m going to try it out myself!
