Need some assistance with setting up my volume with HX Stomp. I’ve calibrated the pedal. As I understand from the manual I set up the pedal to send cc #1 to the stomp. When I try to set up the HX Stomp, the lowest value I can see the stomp to is cc4.
is there a video that covers how to do this?
Great post. Helped me a lot . Thanks
Thanks!
Page 49 of the HX Stomp manual tells you which CCs are reserved and which ones are available. CC #4 is the lowest available CC.
Using the Morningstar editor, select which bank you want to use and move your expression pedal. Select your CC#, for example 4, select your channel, probably 1, then set your range, for example min=0, max=127.
Save your preset.
I’m going to describe how to setup the parameter you want to control using the Stomp on-device editor because that’s the way I do it. I’m sure it can be done with HX Edit but I won’t describe that.
The parameter I’ll use as an example is a volume pedal block‘s position parameter. The volume pedal block only has 2 parameters, position and curve, which makes things as simple as can be. But you would follow the same procedure for setting any parameter so the principle is the same.
Create a Volume Pedal block and using the Stomp on-device editor:
1. Select the Volume Pedal block using the Upper Knob (item 4 on page 5 of the manual)
2. Press down on Knob-1 (item 8 on page 5 of the manual).
3. Using Knob-1 select Psition as the parameter you are controlling
4. Using Knob-2 set the controller to MIDI CC
5. Using Knob-3 set the CC# to CC4
6. Press the Page-Right button (item 6 on page 5 of the manual)
7. Using Knob-1 set the Min value
8. Using Knob-2 set the Max value
9. Press the View button (item 2 on page 5 of the manual) and move the expression pedal to see the parameter’s values changing.
Hope this helps.
