Hi - I'm considering purchasing an MC6, but I have a question. I emailed customer support, but their answer didn't seem to address what I was asking. I'm hoping someone here can!
I have a BOSS MS-3 as part of my board, and I like it - I'd like to keep it. Only issue is, it only has a MIDI Out port. That doesn't bode well for my desire to stop tapdancing on pedals. However, I'm wondering - if I sent the MIDI Out of that pedal into the MIDI In of the MC6, could a PC or CC message sent to the MC6 cause the MC6 to react as if I had performed an action on it directly? I'd like to change patches on the BOSS, and then have the MC6 send messages to my other devices as a result of that action. I could then have further control of the setup via the MC6 after the initial change.
So, the ability of the MC6 to send multiple MIDI messages as a result of a button press is awesome, and would be ideal for what I'm looking for. In short, can a button press (that would then result in the MC6 sending programmed messages) be simulated by an incoming MIDI PC or CC message? If anyone here can shed some light on this scenario, I'd really appreciate it. I don't think it's that complicated, and I would be surprised if it wasn't able to do this, given that it has the MIDI In port on it. Thanks in advance!
