I'm trying to use the MC6 to tap tempo and sync my midi synth and/or drum machine. I'm able to get the Midi Clock Tap Tempo to work and to change the tempo on tap, but as soon as I hit "Exit" or save by holding "Exit (Save)" it stops the tempo. Can someone please let me know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

Has anyone been able to do this with the H9? Use the CC message to tap in a tempo without having to go into the Tap Tempo sub menu... I've got the CC message assigned to #10. When I tap that on my MC6, the tempo shows up, but I can't actually tap it in. Super weird. Not usre what I'm missing.
Yeah, those are different functions that achieve the same thing. If your devices has a tap tempo midi implementation, you can just send that CC message to tap in a tempo for those devices.
Hi James, thinking after speaking....Tap tempo and master clock are two different things. I can send cc messages now to establish tap tempo on my Mobius and H9. I don't have to use the tap screen at all, right? I may have answered my own question...
You're the best, thanks.
@jg.vancouverbc Sorry for the super late reply. The MC6 can pass through midi clock signals. However, it is using a soft midi thru, which means the incoming messages are processed and then sent out again. If the MC6 is running other functions, the timing of the messages might be off.
@alexjsilberman Glad you like it! And thanks for the suggestion. Not sure if we will implement that but I'll give it some thought.
Hi James,
To say I love my MC6 would be an understatement. It's actually a bit unnatural how much I love it, but enough of that.
Plus one on this one. I saw your note this morning on the 2.6 beta.
I would love to have a momentary CC for tap tempo that is persistent until I hit it again. This would allow a single button to act as a master tap for my rig. I think that's what you're implementing and if so. FLY LIKE THE WIND!!!!
Best always,
Alex
Thanks for the response James ... I really appreciate it, and I think it's an amazing pedal too! I'm using 2.4.2 firmware, so I will try the 2.5, but based on your response I won't expect any different behaviours. If I have a tempo signal on the "MIDI in" will that serve as a persistent time signal? Cheers
Hey Justin, thanks for the feedback. We'll be putting 2.5 out of beta soon but we'll start looking into this for 2.6
Hey James! First off, great pedal--it's so powerful and easy to setup/edit. I want to chime in on this thread because I'm having a similar issue on a Chase Bliss Gravitas and a Warped Vinyl mki. I've just updated to the v2.5.0 Beta firmware and am using the desktop editor. I'm successfully using a midi clock to sync the tempo on a DD500, Timefactor and Space, however because the clock is non-persistant, I lose all time function on the Chase Bliss pedals when I hit 'exit/save'. This is a bummer on the Gravitas Tremolo especially, because it just gets stuck in the 'on' waveform until I manually tap a new tempo in on the pedal itself. Any thoughts on this? Would there be an easy way to make the midi clock on the MC6 persistent even after I hit save, so the pedal could be used for other control functions (rather than keeping the clock page open the entire time), or am I missing something that would make that a huge issue?
Hi there,
The midi clock on the MC6 is non-persistant, which means when you exit the mid clock screen, it stops sending the clock signals out. What firmware version are you using?
