Midi clock from Ableton to another device

Hi James, your pedal is amazing and really simplified my setup.

I'm using it to control Ableton Live which I use as a glorified loop pedal.

Now, because Ableton gets the bpm from the first loop I play, I was wondering if I could use the midi clock from Ableton and send it to a delay pedal, so everything would be immediately synched to my loops.

Is this still the case in the MkII ? If the MC6 is connected to Ableton via USB, is it possible to receive tempo and pass it on via a Midi DIN cable to a delay pedal?

Yes, it is possible, but the MC6 implements a soft midi thru, so incoming messages are processed and then sent out. This may be an issue for midi clock messages as they are time sensitive. That is fine if the MC6 is not performing any tasks, but the timings of the messages may vary if the MC6 is processing some other function.

Thanks for the reply, would that eventually be possible if I connect the MC6 to Ableton via DIN cable and not USB?

That's not possible, unfortunately. The MC6 is not able to receive and transmit clock messages via USB to DIN.
