Yo! I absolutely love this pedal, and I use it to control my Boss DD-500 and Empress Effects Reverb. I switched my DD-500 to the A-B-C patch mode, thus losing the tap tempo switch on the unit. I know I can use the MC6 to tap the tempo in (which i can do successfully). My question is - is there a way to turn off the tempo information it sends when I switch to a different patch on the DD-500?
Example: I have a bank on my MC6 setup for just general jammin out - with a tap tempo option for one of the switches. Most of my delay presets are pre configured for the exact tempo of the song I am playing in my band. So when I switch from my jammin out bank with a tempo tapped in...when I go to a new MC6 bank for a specific song and hit the first preset for my delay, I want that preset to have the tempo I have already programmed in the DD-500 itself, instead of the tempo I tapped in prior on the MC6. Does that make sense?
I believe this setting in under "REALTIME SRC" in the DD-500, and in the manual, it seems like there isn't any way to enable or disable this via an external device. So if the DD500 is set to receive incoming real-time messages, it'll adjust the BPM according to what it receives.
The MC6 only receives and transmits incoming midi clock messages, but does not process it.
James - I do mean midi clock information. I suppose I could program all of the BPMs in the MC6 and send that information to the DD500...but it seems a little redundant.
I really just want it to send "tapped in" midi clock information for a few specific patch...but then default to the DD500 for other ones.
If I am able to send midi clock info FROM the DD500 to another midi device (such as the input of the MC6), will the MC6 listen? Meaning unless the tempo is tapped in on the MC6...it will default to the midi clock info it is receiving?
Hi Ben!
When you state "Tap Tempo" information, do you mean Midi Clock messages? Or using CC message to tap in the tempo?
From what you described, it seems like it is a setting on the DD500 that you need to edit, or if it is a Midi-controllable setting then you can use the MC6 to set that parameter. Unfortunately, we do not own a DD-500 and can't advise much about that here.
