Is it possible to dedicate an up and a down scroll button that will control the banks on MC6 and the presets on HX Stomp?
I use presets 1-6 on the HX Stomp. I’d like the MC6 bank to match the different presets on the HX Stomp wNile scolling back and forth easily.
Help please
I just put up a post respecting this in the suggestions forum.
Bank Selection Initialization Commands
If you think it would be useful, upvote it with a like.
What I do is I sent a PC message to the Stomp with a long press on a MC6 switch. So, I scroll my MC6 bank, and then I long press a switch to recall the Stomp preset. But for sur, the best way would be to have a selection of midi-messages sent when the MC6 load a bank. Then, every devices are automatically synced
Deselby.... just checking is this something I have to set for EACH preset or as u say, is it overall? One botton push and provided I set it up correctly- it’ll give me a boost no matter what preset I’m on ? You’ve been so very helpful 🙏
You guys rock. Thankyou !!!!
Ok so now I can access scroll OR set up the presets I need as above - I now have access to my tuner and my MC6 is 70% ready to go!!! Last part is a volume boost. Like the whole level of ANY preset up by say 20db. The equivalent of turning the volume up on the HX stomp. I need access to this in case the crowd gets raucous, depending on the room. Any ideas ?? 🤞🤞🤞
I use my MC6 to get specific presets on HXS, For a Top-40 gig situation I use a bank with 6 different HXS-Presets. What I have done on my MC6 and HXS setup, is that when I hit a certain Preset on the MC6, it goes to a separate bank on the MC6 with dedicated Controls for that specific HXS preset.
And later on I realized about the "hidden" page on the MC6, preset G-L. So now I use it the same way, but instead of using different banks on the MC6, I just jump to the Second page for controlling the Effects on the HXS.
As far as the scrolling with banks and presets. It could be done. I use it this way. On the MC6, switch A-F controls HXS Presets using either Double Tap or Long Press. That way I can still use the switch for controlling the presets on the HXS with a normal press.. And you could still use the toggle on/off if you want, (just put position to BOTH)
The way the MC6 could be programmed is:
For MC6 switch A
MSG1 - Action: Long Press, Type: Control Change, CC Number:69 , CC Value 0-2 (what snapshot you want)
MSG2 - Action: Long Press, Type: Program Change, PC Number: (HXS Preset), Channel: 1
MSG3 - Action: Long Press , Type: Set Bank, Bank Value:1
For MC6 switch B
MSG1 - Action: Long Press, Type: Control Change, CC Number:69 , CC Value 0-2 (what snapshot you want)
MSG2 - Action: Long Press, Type: Program Change, PC Number: (HXS Preset), Channel: 1
MSG3 - Action: Long Press , Type: Set Bank, Bank Value: 2
For MC6 switch C
MSG1 - Action: Long Press, Type: Control Change, CC Number:69 , CC Value 0-2 (what snapshot you want)
MSG2 - Action: Long Press, Type: Program Change, PC Number:1-127(HXS Preset), Channel: 1
MSG3 - Action: Long Press , Type: Set Bank, Bank Value: 3
For MC6 switch D
MSG1 - Action: Long Press, Type: Control Change, CC Number:69 , CC Value 0-2 (what snapshot you want)
MSG2 - Action: Long Press, Type: Program Change, PC Number:1-127(HXS Preset), Channel: 1
MSG3 - Action: Long Press , Type: Set Bank, Bank Value: 4
and so on....
Not really scrolling, but you will get the HXS Presets and the MC6 Bank you want.
This is awesome. Knew it could be done , just gets a bit overwhelming...so appreciate your detailed reply. I get the FS4 & FS5 thing, I can live with that. No free lunches indeed! Well said :) Assuming I wont need to worry about subsets should I set up the FS4 & FS 5 correctly? Thanku so much.
I’m unsure if the above is what I need but I think my requirement is simpler. I would like to scroll through my HX stomp presets up and down. Using say Bank 1 preset A on the MC6 to scroll up on the stomp and preset B to scroll down. Note I need to move frm one preset (say 40A) to the next (40B) and back... NOT snapshots. Can anyone Plse assist with this possibly very obvious question?
At present you can’t do what you want. It would be nice to have a set of messages that were sent when a bank was entered and another set when the bank was exited. But as things stand such is not the case. You could suggest it as a new feature. I would vote for it.
The solution I provided will allow you to switch banks and Stomp presets using 1 preset/button on the MC6. Doing a press will increment the MC6 bank and the Stomp preset. Doing a long press will decrement the MC6 bank and the Stomp preset. Yes, you will have used a preset on the MC6 but you only need one action, i.e. a press or a long press, to change both the MC6 bank and the Stomp preset. Personally I find that preferable to hitting 2 switches simultaneously followed by another button press to select the Stomp preset. ymmv.
Not exactly. I'm switching banks by hitting two buttons at the same time as labeled...
When I switch from say bank 1 to bank 2 id like to be able to send a program change to the HX stomp (or whatever else) along with each bank change. I have it set up to have each bank as a different song, so it would be great if as i change the bank (song) on the MC6, it changes the preset(song) on the hx stomp.
Right now i have change the bank, then assign a separate button to a preset which is an extra push, leaves me one less button in each bank and more margin for error. Maybe I'm missing something though?
It’s not really clear to me what you are trying to do so I will make some assumptions. I take it that you want to use one preset on the MC6 to scroll banks on the MC6 and presets on the Stomp. And that you want to use the other MC6 presets in the bank to do something that is specific to the Stomp preset you have selected. I say this because if the actions associated with the Stomp presets are the same, e.g. something like selecting a snapshot, I would take another approach. But all things being equal and if my assumptions are accurate, you could do the following:
Bank 1, preset A
MSG1 - Action: Release, Type: Set Bank, Bank Value:2
MSG2 - Action: Release, Type: Program Change, Value: PC Number: 2, Channel: 1
MSG3 - Action: Long Press Release, Type: Set Bank, Bank Value:6
MSG4 - Action: Long Press Release, Type: Program Change, Value: PC Number: 6, Channel: 1
Bank 2, preset A
MSG1 - Action: Release, Type: Set Bank, Bank Value:3
MSG2 - Action: Release, Type: Program Change, Value: PC Number: 3, Channel: 1
MSG3 - Action: Long Press Release, Type: Set Bank, Bank Value:1
MSG4 - Action: Long Press Release, Type: Program Change, Value: PC Number: 1, Channel: 1
etc ...
Bank 6, preset A
MSG1 - Action: Release, Type: Set Bank, Bank Value:1
MSG2 - Action: Release, Type: Program Change, Value: PC Number: 1, Channel: 1
MSG3 - Action: Long Press Release, Type: Set Bank, Bank Value:5
MSG4 - Action: Long Press Release, Type: Program Change, Value: PC Number: 5, Channel: 1
When testing be sure that the device is disconnected from the editor otherwise it won’t work.
edit: quick note. This will obviously work best if the Stomp is on preset 1 at the outset.
I’m if surprised we’re the only two people wishing to do this
I came mere to ask the same question. It doesn't seem like there is a way to do this, but I hope I'm wrong!
