Hey guys. I'm new to the MC6 world and I'm loving every minute of it
I've built myself a little 2 button extension switch to bank up and down on the MC6. I've noticed that there is a scarily fine line between banking up one bank and scrolling through more than one bank. Is there any way to set this up so that it's harder to go further than 1 bank? Like can you make it so that you have to hold the switch for longer or even reduce those 2 switches sensitivity?
Secondly I noticed that when i hit one of the switches and then hit the other one while the MC6 is still displaying the bank then the second switch will continue scrolling in the direction that the first one was? For example if I hit the bank down switch and quickly then start pressing the bank up switch it will continue to bank down until the display clears. Is this something I have done wrong with my switch or is this normal for the MC6?
Thanks so much for your advice
I've had the same issue with it scrolling through multiple banks when I just intend to scroll through one. I tried changing the switch sensitivity but I don't recall that helping.
What I did, though, was use the Set Bank MIDI type. It's a little more tedious, but should do what you want. Here's how I use it:
- When on bank 1, assign a switch to Set Bank and choose bank 2. When you step on the switch, it will take you to bank 2 and then stop.
- When on bank 2, assign the same switch to Set Bank and choose bank 3. Pressing the switch will then take you to bank 3 and stop.
- Etc.
I have designated 7 banks for my 7 midi devices, used as sort of a main page for each device. I want to be able to scroll from one device to the next. So for these 7 banks, I use the Set Bank message. I also set a conditional message, so when the switch is pressed, it goes to the next bank. When the switch is held, it goes to the previous bank. For all other banks outside of these 7 device "home pages", I use the MC6 Bank Up/MC6 Bank Down messages.
