Hello first of all. New here and just received my MC6 in the mail other day. It's beautiful. I can see myself even getting another one down the road. I am currently using a behringer FCB1010 with eureka prom chip that is programmed with 4 basic modes. My goal: keep my fcb1010 in EF (effects mode) so i basically have all those buttons for effects on/off with my Axe FX II. I want to use the MC6 for scenes/looper essentially.
How i'm connected: Axe fx midi out > FCB1010 midi in > fcb1010 midi out/thru >MC6 midi in > MC6 midi out/thru > Axe fx midi in. Theres the loop which seems simple enough.
My issue: some strange behaviors with my fcb1010, now no longer bidirectional- not telling me what effects are on/off. In fact, the button leds now just flash like its all confused. also sometimes when i press a switch on the fcb1010 it changes banks on the MC6.
Please tell me i'm missing something very simple here. I"m not a midiot but i'm not midi guru either. settings i should change on axe fx? 'ignore redundant pc messages"? i did enable midi thru on the MC6 upon startup. any thoughts/suggestions?
Cheers
So it seems it might be a limitation with the eprom on my FCB1010. Was talking the guy from Eureka Sound and this setup is a bit problematic...mainly in terms of keeping bidirectional states. Normally to do this it the Axe Fx midi thru is turned off in two midi cable method. I have both working not too bad together now and that was mainly just using different midi channels assigned for the FCB and MC6 respectively. I love this MC6 and how programmable it is. I'm not a midi genius at all but i'm starting to wrap my head around it and see the possibilities.
I'd love a 10 button version of this with bidirectional abilities. (midi probing) i think its called. to be able to let me know what states are on/off. I have my Axe FX also connected via Axe -Edit (USB) at all times and the other thing i need to figure out is how to have Axe Edit reflect the changes i'm making in realtime via the MC6. When i just had the FCB1010 connected it was able to do this somehow. I will likely end up getting another MC6 and daisy chain if possible or hold out to see if you guys come out with a slightly larger pedal ....like a 10 button version! yes??!!! wink wink nudge nudge!
Seems like the midi signals might be stopping at the AxeFX side. Did you enable midi thru on the AxeFX? You can connect the MC6 via USB and look at the midi monitor to observe if there are any messages coming through.
