Hello,
Just received my MC6 after debating over it for months! I'm super excited about the possibilities this opens up for me on my board, but I ran into something pretty quickly that has me a little frustrated.
On my board is a Line 6 HX Stomp. One of my primary uses for the MC6 is to afford more control over that unit, in that there's not that many buttons on it. But also, I want to control parameters via an expression pedal. I've set up an expression pedal on the MC6, and have configured the HX Stomp to listen for the CC message that it sends when I move the pedal.
However, when I move the expression pedal, the MC6 doesn't send the message _immediately_ - there's a slight delay between initial pedal movement and when the message actually gets sent. This seems to also coincide with the display on the MC6 showing me the percentage measurement of the expression pedal that I'm moving. While it's sub-second, it's definitely noticeable and disruptive. I thought maybe the controller is delaying because it was in 'Edit Mode' or something, but I took it out of edit mode and the delay remains.
Any ideas here? When I move the pedal, I expect the information to be processed immediately, without delay. Is there a setting or something that's causing this? Please help. Thanks!
Solved!
After getting back from the office tonight, I thought I would look into calibrating my expression pedal. I didn't think this would do a whole lot, given the values seem accurate and all - it's just the reaction time that lags.
I hooked everything up and turned it all on, and it worked like a charm. The difference being, I didn't have the controller connected to my laptop this time. Everything works like I expect, and it responds instantly... which is awesome. I connected my laptop then loaded the editor, and it lags once again. Disconnected and restarted the controller, and it's all good. I can live with that!
