Hey guys. Sorry to spam up the forum with a couple of questions but I thought I should keep them separate =)
I like the secondary foot switch function idea that the delayed message type offers but I'm a little confused as to how it should be set up. The manual uses the example that I'd love to do. I'd like to press a switch to bank up on a Strymon pedal and then be able to hold that switch to toggle that pedal on/off. I'm currently using the Strymon Bank Up/Down message types and I can get the MC6 to then have a delayed message (using the same switch) that will either turn the Strymon off or on (depending on programming). But I'm not sure how to get it to toggle both.
How should I be setting this up? I assume it's possible if it's suggested in the manual. It's just currently a little above my experience
Thank you
I am looking to do something similar - new user here - on an AxeFX.I want to press the button to toggle on/off Delay1 (CC #47) and hold the button to toggle X/Y states of Delay1 (CC # 106). I want the preset name to blink if Delay1 is on (in either the X or Y state), and not blink if it's off. Ignoring the blink for now, I'm having a hard time getting the press vs hold to do what I want. My messages are:
- Message 1 conditional 2, 2
- Message 2 CC toggle #47 values 0 and 127
- Message 3 conditional 0,0
- Message 4 CC toggle #106 values 0 and 127
The problem is that once I've toggled one of the CC#, the other toggle needs 2 actions instead of 1. So for instance, suppose the Delay is on in the X state and then I turn it off by a single press to toggle CC#47 to 0. If I then hold the button down, nothing happens (I am expecting a toggle CC#106 to 127). When I hold the button down again, it does toggle to the Y state, and any additional holds will toggle between X and Y as intended. But then to toggle the Delay on or off in whatever X/Y state it happens to be in, I need to press once without impact, and thereafter it'll toggle on single presses, but again will then require 2 holds to toggle CC#106. So anytime I toggle one CC, the other one needs a double action.
No prob, brother! I’m still trying to learn the deeper aspects of the pedal, and there is a bit of a learning curve. But it’s the best midi controller I’ve owned!
Amazing! thank you so much. I've just learned a great new trick. I didn't quite understand this message before this. I really appreciate that mate
Are you saying you want to bank up when you press the switch, and turn off and on when you hold it? If so...
- Set Message 1 to be a conditional, using 2, 2 as your values
- Message 2 will then be your bank up/down command
- Message 3 will be conditional using 0,0 as your values
- Message 4 will be your off/on command. So, a CC toggle with the CC# 102 (bypass on Strymon stuff) and values of 0 and 127 for bypass and engage
When you have this set up, pressing the switch once will bank up/down, and holding the switch will stay on that same bank, but switch the pedal on/off (hold once to turn on, hold a second time to turn off).
If this isn't what you are looking for, then my apologies!
