I've been racking my brain and can't seem to get my MC-6 to display the AxeFx II-XL tuner. I can get the MC-6 to toggle the tuner on the unit, but it will not display on the MC-6, I only see "waiting for tuner..." on the display. I've checked my midi cables, and there's no setting on the AxeFXII to disable midi thru. What am I doing wrong?

The AxeFX tuner command seems buggy. Sometime it works, sometimes it doesn't. Seems like after I reboot the MC6 it works, but won't work after the device is on for a bit. Please look in to this
I also have an Axe FX XL+, running Quantum 9.04, and I cannot get the tuner to work reliably:
MC6 is connected to AFX with 7-pin MIDI cable using 9VAC phantom power.
Preset changes and effects toggles are working fine, as is tap tempo, so I have MIDI functionality working
I've programmed switch F (using Morningstar Editor) message one to "AxeFX tuner".
The AFX MIDI CC is set to ( default ) 15, and sysex is set to "ALL".
The MC6 displayed "Waiting for tuner" until I connected a second (5-pin) MIDI cable from AFX MIDI out to MC6
"MIDI IN". (MC6 does not support bidirectional MIDI on 7-pin cable? Disappointing)
Now when I push tuner (button F) the display comes up, but the AFX does not go into tuner mode, and the display on MC does not change as you tune the guitar. I have to manually push the "TUNER" button on the AFX to get the MC6 to respond. What do I need to do to get this working?
EDIT: I had the values mixed up, 127 = on and 0 = off. Now it is working properly. This is opposite of toggling effects blocks because the effects command is a BYPASS command, so 0 to NOT BYPASS and 127 to BYPASS are used for these.
That's pretty much what you need to do. Try sending a PC message into the MC6 Midi Input (make sure its the correct channel) just to confirm that the Midi input works. The MC6 should respond by changing banks (PC#0 = Bank 1).
Midi out from MC-6 to the Midi in on Axe FXII, Midi Out from Axe FXII to the MC-6.
This is taken from the AxeFX Wiki Page (https://wiki.fractalaudio.com/axefx2/index.php?title=Tuner):
Tuner display on floor controller
Fractal's MFC-101 and certain controllers (i.e. Gordius, Liquid-Foot, RJM) can show a graphical tuner display:
Enable real-time MIDI SysEx communication on the Axe-Fx II (I/O > MIDI) by setting it to “Tuner” or "All".
Use a suitable cable connection which allows full bi-directional MIDI communication.
"Waiting for tuner..." message on MFC-101
If this message appears on the MFC-101 after pressing the Tuner switch on your foot controller, check these Axe-Fx II settings:
I/O > MIDI: Send Realtime Sysex must be enabled.
Tuner menu: must be set to display the first tab page.
Tuner MIDI CC: must be set to default MIDI CC.
Could you describe how you are connecting the Midi cables from the MC6 to the AxeFX?
Yes, sir. I also made sure I have the correct firmware installed. Is there a guide for setting up the tuner display function for Axe-FX?
Hi! Did you enable sysex messages on your AxeFX?
